WAIC hosts high-level talks on intelligent driving

As a key forum at this year's World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), a high-level dialogue on intelligent driving was held on Friday in Shanghai to promote industry development.

The forum focused on autonomous driving technology application, intelligent transportation system construction and business operation of commercial vehicles as well as technology research.

Government officials, academics and company executives discussed future development and commercialization of self-driving vehicles during the forum.

Shanghai is actively promoting the development of intelligent and connected vehicles, as the city takes the lead in the industry development across the country.

During the forum, an action plan for Lingang to set up an intelligent and connected vehicle data center and cultivate a number of related digital service companies was announced. Lingang will further create a digital economy ecology for intelligent and connected vehicles and enhance data exchange and software services for the sector.

A total of 15 companies including SAIC, Horizon Robotics and TuSimple will support Lingang's demonstration and application of intelligent and connected vehicle.
