SAP expands in China with CRM and cloud

SAP can better support “intelligent enterprises” in China with a strategy to update CRM (customer relationship management) and cloud services, Europe's biggest enterprise software vendor said in Shanghai Thursday.

China ranks second in the global digital economy scale, and this strategy will help Chinese enterprises upgrade business delivery speeds and accelerate the digitalization process. "Innovative technologies will help our customers to create intelligence enterprises," Mark Gibbs, SAP China's CEO said.

SAP released an updated CRM product in Shanghai as the CRM market in Asia is expected to grow 42 percent annually until 2022.

It can serve both B2B and B2C enterprises, including the management of marketing, commerce, service, customer data and sales.

In the cloud sector, SAP is gaining Chinese clients including dotcom giants like Alibaba, Baidu and Tencent, which are often referred to collectively as BAT.

SAP now has 11 million enterprise users worldwide on cloud, the company said.
