Konica Minolta plans expanding beyond the business imaging sector in China, it said on Tuesday.

With its Chinese headquarters in Shanghai, the Japanese company has 17 subsidiaries covering manufacturing, research and development and sales.

Previously, Konica Minolta focused on multifunction printers, a professional device used in offices.

It will offer more management and service products, based on new technologies from artificial intelligence to cloud computing and smart office management.

At its office in Huaihai Road, the company showcases its offerings, including 3D printers, video monitoring gear and ultrasonic diagnosis systems.

The company said the popularity of the Internet and smart devices and the booming requirements in the health care industry will fuel demand for its products.
