This autumn, Shanghai's labor market competition index has dropped significantly, new industry data show.

The city records a job market competition index of 50.5, ranking 4th across the country and down two spots compared with last quarter, online recruitment firm zhaopin.com said.

Livelihoods and the social economy are recovering in Shanghai during the third quarter, and talent demand in the job market has expanded, according to the recruiter.

Among the top five local industries, the competition in the computer software industry is still the toughest, followed by Internet/e-commerce, fund/securities/futures/investment, IT service and real estate.
