CIIE shifts focus to organizing exhibitions

A map of the enterprise and business exhibition area of the third China International Import Expo was released on Tuesday, marking a shift in focus of the preparatory work from attracting participants to organizing exhibitions.

The third CIIE will cover an area of 360,000 square meters which will be divided into six exhibition zones for trade in services, automobiles, intelligent industry and information technology, consumer goods, medical equipment and healthcare products, as well as food and agricultural products.

This year's expo will also have four special exhibition sections — public health, smart transport, energy conservation and environmental protection, and sporting goods.

The public health zone in the medical equipment and medical care exhibition area is designed to mainly display the latest achievements in the field of public health and epidemic prevention, and so far contains 80 percent of the leading enterprises in this field, according to the China International Import Expo Bureau.

A new batch of exhibitors was announced on Tuesday, the fourth batch since March. Most are Global Fortune 500 enterprises and leading companies in various sectors.
