Main equity indexes edge up

China's main equity indexes edged up, led by the electronic components industry.

At market close, the Shanghai Composite Index increased 0.13 percent to end at 2, 875.81 points, the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.24 percent to end at 9, 605.19 points and the blue chip CSI300 index was up 0.19 percent to 3,836.06 points.

Turnover on the two major bourses totaled 342.5 billion yuan (US$46.07 billion).

Most industry sectors gained. Electronic components, the tourist industry and cement building materials led the gains. Xiamen Changelight Co Ltd climbed by the daily cap.

The medical industry and environmental engineering suffered biggest loss.

On the STAR Market, most companies posted a loss with only 16 companies posting gains. DBAPP Security, a company dedicated to the cybersecurity sector, was the biggest gainer with its share price up 3.74 percent at 105.81 yuan.

The biggest loser was Chipscreen Biosciences, a small molecule innovative medicines enterprise, which lost 6.06 percent.
