Chinese dronemaker DJI opened a new global flagship store in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, over the weekend as the company focuses more on the domestic market.

East China is currently DJI's biggest regional market in China. The company now has three global flagship stores in the region, including those in Shanghai and Nanjing of Jiangsu Province, accounting for half of the number globally.

As a key city in the Yangtze River Delta, Hangzhou sees the company's revenue growing about 55 percent annually, according to DJI.

As the world’s biggest dronemaker, DJI used to focus primarily on overseas markets. Several years ago, domestic sales accounted for less than 10 percent of its revenue. This figure has since grown to over 20 percent, company executives said.

To woo Chinese consumers, DJI also launched an entry-level pocket-sized drone, an action camera and vlog tools for social and video enthusiasts.

With a space of 400 square meters, the Hangzhou DJI store showcases DJI products and new-tech demos for drones and cameras.

It’s both a flagship store and a “science museum,” DJI said.
