A 5G industry park has made its official debut in the city’s Jinqiao area, the first of its kind in Shanghai.

The first batch of 42 firms, including Huawei and SAIC, announced investments totaling 13 billion yuan (US$1.86 billion) there.

They will be building innovation and research centers, regional headquarters and investment funds. Among them, 20 projects broke ground with total investment of 5.4 billion yuan.
