ZTE Corp launched a 5G smartphone on Monday, the first supporting all 5G frequency bands of the four Chinese mobile carriers — China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and China Radio and Television.

The Axon 11 SE 5G features full 5G support, optimized video shooting and editing, as well as power-efficient functions. It costs from 1,998 yuan (US$285), a relatively affordable price among 5G models.

China’s 5G model popularity led the world in the first quarter, with 87 percent of new smartphones supporting 5G, compared with the global level of 67 percent. China has the advantages of booming 5G network construction and a richer variety of 5G models, ZTE said.

A highlight of the new model is optimization of video applications, such as vlog, covering features like stable, easy editing and distribution.

China’s national strategies on intelligent infrastructure construction and digital innovation have fueled the progress of 5G. It also fuels new information consumption on video blogs or Vlog, online education and livestreaming sales.

Shenzhen-listed ZTE surged 6.93 percent to close at 38.55 yuan on Monday, compared with a 2.21 percent increase on the Shenzhen stock index.
