New show to focus on lives of career women
“Live Quietly in a Restless World,” a new drama about the lives of urban career women, started shooting on Thursday.
Director Xue Xiaolu, whose credits include films “Finding Mr Right” and “The Whistleblower,” will helm the series. Ma Yili and Xu Yajun will play the lead roles.
Based on a hit online novel by Wang Xin, the series will portray the careers of a group of fashion magazine publishers who witness the rapid development of mass media and the domestic fashion industry over the past 20 years.
It also depicts the changing lives of urban Chinese women as they become more independent, confident and versatile.
The series is also the TV drama directorial debut of Xue, who wrote the script as well.
