Beijing film festival teams with iQiyi for online screenings

More than 30 acclaimed films will be shown as part of the event, including the Oscar-winning drama "Marriage Story" and Golden Globe nominee "Bombshell."

The Beijing International Film Festival will cooperate with iQiyi to host an online film exhibition from May 1 to 5. A total of 32 acclaimed films will be shown.

Oscar-winning drama “Marriage Story” will open the exhibition while “Bombshell,” which was nominated for the Golden Globe Awards, will be the closing film on May 5.

Other movies to be exhibited include the Chinese drama “Spring Tide,” Indian comedy “The Man Who Feels No Pain,” Spanish romance “Midnight In Paris” and French drama “Diamond Island.”

Filmmaker Chen Kaige and actors Tong Dawei and Tan Zhuo will host online events with viewers about their film dreams.

Starting on Thursday, movie buffs can snatch up online tickets for the screenings on iQiyi. 

According to Song Jia, general manager of iQiyi Film Center, the online film exhibition is expected to attract a wide audience from home and abroad with diverse styles of movies and interactive programs.
