Family fun and frolics season under way at Bund Finance Center
The Bund Finance Center has recently initiated its family season, an interactive program that includes a cluster of activities and events catering for families with kids and their friends.
Today is May 20, and if read in Chinese, the figures “5.20” sound slightly like “I love you,” so a romantic party is being held for couples who want to express their love for one another, while a backdrop of classic romantic films are being screened outdoors.
On May 29, an exhibition by famed artist Alex Katz will raise its curtain at the center. Born in 1927, Katz is an American figurative painter known for his large-scale simplified images of friends and family.
Through August 9, more than 30 representative works of art, including paintings and sculpture, will be on show to demonstrate Katz’s career, artistic exploration and the influences he’s had on the younger generation.
To celebrate the upcoming International Children’s Day, a slew of fun sports will be held for children on May 29-31.
Meanwhile, to draw foot traffic, weekend bazaars will be open till 10pm. Food with exotic flavors, handicrafts, household goods and accessories will be on sale.
