An outdoor market atmosphere is a welcome tonic these days as the coronavirus pandemic has eased in the city and the weather is getting warmer. And what better way to enjoy your summer nights embracing the diversity of Latin American culture at a Latin night market, which runs through August 2 at the Sinar Mas Plaza in the North Bund’s riverfront.

There are tasty dishes, drinks, handicrafts, games and live-band entertainment that will help you relax and get in the mood for fun, food and frolics. Donna Jannie is a Brazilian-style coffee shop that blends South American cuisine, coffee and wine culture.

La Coyota boasts of serving the best Mexican food in Shanghai, and serves delicious Burritos, Quesadillas, Tacos, Margaritas and much more. De Medici is known for their creative ice cream, with varying flavors from chocolate, vanilla, malaga, matcha, salted caramel, pistachios, strawberries, coconut to yogurt. New recipes based on seasonal fruit can be made in individual portions to please the taste buds of the pickiest eaters.

The Bar Habitat, which runs every Wednesday and Thursday between 4-10pm, is especially designed for small group gatherings. The bar’s menu features Latin American-style cocktails, world-famous tequila and high-end wines from Tempus Alba and Los Haroldos wineries.

For families with kids, “Hi, I’m Martin” is a fun place to go. The joint borrowed its name from a cartoon character, who wakes up in the morning and finds himself transformed into something or someone different.

The playground has a nice spread of succulent plants that come in a wide range of sizes, leaf shapes and colors, flowers and unique displays.

Then there is the Witch’s Grocery Store, where you can watch a wonderful puppet show, as well as exploring a variety of exquisite accessories and indigenous handicrafts. And there is music, dance and live-band performances throughout the weekend.
