Hope Run, a charity run with participants who are doctors, researchers, cancer patients and volunteers, hit the streets of Shanghai's Xuhui District today.
Nearly 500 people took part in the three kilometer run organized by Shanghai Cancer Center, China Cancer Foundation and Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association.
Donations raised by the charity run will be used to sponsor cancer research and help cancer patients who are struggling financially.
Since Hope Run was launched 19 years ago, some 290,000 people have participated, with around 10 million yuan (US$1.53 million) raised for the cause so far.
