Shanghai Daily will soon launch a regular special edition in Pakistan with Pakistan Observer, after the two newspapers signed a cooperation agreement in Shanghai on Friday.

The special edition will report the economic and social development of Shanghai, the economic cooperation between the two countries, and the achievements of Belt and Road Initiatives. 

Pakistan Observer, which was launched in 1988, is one of the leading English dailies of Pakistan. It is published in six major cities of the country, those being Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Muzaffarabad. 

The agreement was signed on behalf of Shanghai Daily by Xia Ruirui, executive deputy editor-in-chief of Shanghai Daily, and Gauhar Zahid Malik, executive editor of Pakistan Observer, on behalf of the Pakistan Observer. Malik was accompanied by Omer Malik, the group managing editor of Pakistan Observer. 

Shanghai Daily also publishes special editions in Indonesia and United States.
