Fudan award for Gree Electric chief

Dong Mingzhu, chairwoman of Gree Electric, has won the Fudan Premium Fund of Management Award for her outstanding contribution in enterprise management.

Dong was honored for leading Gree to become the world’s largest air conditioner producer by her dedication in independent innovation. She also initiated the concepts of “replacing after-sale service with product quality” and “the best service is that there is no need of after-sale services.”

Initiated by China’s former vice premier Li Lanqing, the fund has been giving awards to outstanding scholars and entrepreneurs for 13 years.

Former winners included Ma Yun, chairman of Alibaba, Liu Chuanzhi, founder of Lenovo, and Ma Huateng, chairman of Tencent.
