Shanghai leaders Li, Ying meet CSIC chief

Shanghai Party Secretary Li Qiang and Mayor Ying Yong met Hu Wenming, chairman of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, in Shanghai on Sunday.

The Shanghai municipal government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CSIC while Minhang District signed an agreement with CSIC Engine Co, Ltd.

CSIC and Shanghai have broad cooperation space, and the city hopes CSIC will take the opportunity and deepen cooperation in scientific innovation and industrial upgrading in order to better implement the national strategy, Li said.

Shanghai is accelerating the construction of international economy, finance, trade, shipping and scientific innovation centers, and welcomes CSIC to accelerate its development, Ying noted, adding that the city will make efforts to improve the business environment for all kinds of enterprises, including CSIC.

CSIC will take the opportunity to deepen cooperation with Shanghai in all fields and push forward the development of marine equipment and other industries, Hu told the city leaders.

Ying and Hu witnessed the signing of the agreements by Chen Yin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Committee, and executive vice mayor of Shanghai, and Wu Yongjie, general manager of CSIC. City leader Zhuge Yujie also attended the meeting.

According to the city’s agreement, the two sides will strengthen strategic cooperation in the fields of marine equipment, power and mechanical and electrical equipment, strategic emerging industries and productive modern service industries.
