Party Secretary Li welcomes Hamburg mayor

Shanghai Party Secretary Li Qiang met Mayor of Hamburg Peter Tschentscher and his delegation on Tuesday and witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two cities.

Shanghai Vice Mayor Xu Kunlin and Tschentscher signed the MOU on cooperation between Hamburg and Shanghai for 2019 and 2020 to promote all-around cooperation.

Li introduced the social and economic development status of Shanghai to the guests. As China’s biggest economic center and on the forefront of the reform and opening-up, Shanghai is accelerating the construction of a global center for economy, finance, trade, shipping and sci-tech innovation.

Tschentscher hoped to expand cooperation and exchanges with Shanghai in economy and trade, culture, education, sci-tech, ports and other fields, and promote the development of Sino-German friendship within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
