Shanghai Yodak Cardio-Thoracic Hospital signed an agreement with a cardiologists' group over the weekend to offer high-quality services to patients outside public hospitals.

Current health reform encourages development of private health facilities as well as doctor’s groups. Doctors can now work in more than one hospital or clinic.

Huayixincheng Doctor’s Group has over 300 members and is considered the leading group of cardiovascular specialists in China.

Three members of the group will be at Shanghai Yodak each week to offer outpatient services and surgery. The group will also offer distance diagnosis and consultation.

Cardiovascular disease is the top killer in China with over 290 million patients. Every year China reports over 3 million new cases of coronary diseases, which kill 1.75 million people annually.

Dr Wang Gaifei, president of Shanghai Yodak, said the hospital will make use of the good opportunity with a diagnosis center, heart failure center and online hospital.
