An organization was unveiled on Tuesday in Jing’an District to train professionals and promote development of the city's human resources service industry.

The organization — Meiyuan Academy — was jointly established by the human resources and social security bureau of Jing’an District and the Suzhou Creek Investment Holding Co Ltd.

Directed by the Chinese Academy of Personnel Science, the School of Labor and Human Resources of Renmin University of China and the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the new facility will organize training for service providers at different levels to improve service quality and efficiency in the industry.

Jing'an is the first district in Shanghai to have a national industrial park devoted to the human resources industry. It has launched a plan to utilize its advantages in specialized services to promote the “Shanghai Service” brand by gathering high-level global headhunting companies from around the world, fostering local human resources enterprises and helping them expand in domestic and foreign markets.

While attracting talent from overseas, it now also plans to cultivate local talent with the newly established academy.

Jing’an has a total of 318 human resources service companies, forming a complete industrial chain to meet diversified needs in recruitment, headhunting, talent assessment and training and vocational counselling.

According to Wang Guangrong, director of the Jing’an District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, these companies served about 68,000 employers last year.
