Fast statistics of Lianghui: city's achievements and goals in public services
Shanghai has become more livable thanks to the citywide participation in garbage sorting and the government's efforts in upgrading the public facilities.
Garbage sorting
The percentage of properly sorted garbage increased from 15 percent to 90 percent in residential areas.
The amount of recyclable waste, household food waste and hazardous waste went up by 431.8 percent, 88.8 percent, and 504.1 percent respectively.
The amount of residual waste went down by 17.5 percent per day on average.
The disposal of waste to landfills dropped from 41.4 percent to 20 percent of the amount generated.
Transportation
Shanghai will kick off the construction of the Pudong Comprehensive Transportation Hub and accelerate the construction of 172 kilometers of Metro lines such as the one connecting Hongqiao and Pudong transportation hubs, Metro Line Chongming.
Cables
120.5-kilometer-long overhead electric wires were replaced with underground cables in 2019 and another 100 kilometers of wires will be removed this year.
Fitness facilities
The government has completed the phase I construction of the Citizen Sports Park, built and renovated 112 public exercise walkways and 76 public stadiums and equipped 345 fitness sites in communities and parks with fitness facilities.
In 2020, the construction of the Xujiahui Sports Park and the Pudong Football Stadium will be accelerated. A hundred fitness lanes, 500 fitness sites and 80 multifunctional sports courts will be built or renovated.
