7 new imported cases reported in Shanghai

Seven new imported cases were reported in the city, which has totally confirmed 153 imported cases. Another 13 imported suspected cases are undergoing test, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning.

Among the newly diagnosed cases, three are Chinese students studying abroad, one in Ireland and two in the UK.

The fourth case is an American, who left the US on March 25, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport the next day via Japan and was put under quarantine upon arrival.

The fifth is a Shanghai native, who had a business trip in the UK. The person left the UK on March 16, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day via Hong Kong and was put under quarantine upon arrival.

The sixth and seventh are a pair of couple, who are both Chinese. They had a business trip in Germany, left Germany on March 26, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day and were put under quarantine upon arrival.

All the seven patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment and their 52 close contacts on the planes have been tracked and put under quarantine and observation.

There was no local case or local suspected case reported in the latest 24 hours.

Currently, the city has reported 153 imported cases, with 146 being treated at the hospital, including three in serious condition, and seven discharged upon recovery.

Among the 339 local cases, 327 have been discharged upon recovery, five deaths, seven are hospitalized including six in critical condition.
