Shanghai observed three minutes silence at 10am to mourn martyrs in epidemic fight and others who have died during the coronavirus outbreak.

Horns on Shanghai Metro trains were sounded for 10 seconds at 10am as a mark of respect. Passengers were notified to stand in mourning for three minutes.

At the Bund, traffic police officers of Huangpu District signalled for cars to stop at intersections at 10am, and the officers took off their hats in mourning.

At railway stations, passengers and station workers also stood in silence, while departing railway trains sounded their horns.
