Passengers and staff at Shanghai's Pudong and Hongqiao airports joined the nation in paying their respects to martyrs in fight against the coronavirus epidemic and others who died of the disease with three-minute silence at 10am on Saturday.

Airport staff at the security checkpoints, on the tarmac and in offices halted their work at 10am. Passengers also took part.

At the sections where arrivals from overseas are being processed for central quarantine, staff from local districts and neighboring provinces also observed the mourning.
