2 new imported cases reported in the city

Two more imported cases of coronavirus were reported in the city on Monday, bringing the total number of such infections to 199, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.

Both patients are Chinese — one working in Russia and one studying in the UK.

They have been transferred to the designated hospital and their 24 close contacts on the planes have been tracked and put under quarantine and medical observation.

Meanwhile, six imported cases — two from the UK, two from France, one from the US and one from Switzerland — were discharged from hospital upon recovery on Monday.

So far of all the199 imported cases, 61 have been discharged upon recovery and 138 are hospitalized, including one in critical condition.

Another 14 suspected imported cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Sunday.

Among the 339 local cases, 328 have been discharged upon recovery and five are hospitalized, all in critical condition. There have been six local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation right now, the health commission said.
