3 new COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai

Three new imported novel coronavirus cases were reported in the city on Wednesday, while one imported patient from Spain was discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Thursday morning.

The newly diagnosed patients are all Chinese, one studying in the UK and the other being a pair of father and son from the US. The father is studying in the US with the son in a local kindergarten there.

The patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 70 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 379 imported cases, 355 have been discharged upon recovery and 24 are still hospitalized.

One imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Wednesday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery and one is hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
