Installations celebrate shipping landmarks
Art installations symbolizing Shanghai’s 10 shipping landmarks are to be found in 10 Metro stations from now till July 21 to mark China National Maritime Day on July 11.
An opening ceremony, launched by China Maritime Museum, was held at the People’s Square Metro station on Thursday.
A circular art installation which previews the 10 landmarks was unveiled at the station.
People can scan QR codes on posters beside the installations to collect 11 badges and take part in a lucky draw.
Prizes include a model of the Wusongkou Lighthouse, papercut ship models, foldable fans with Chinese qinghua patterns and marine telescopes.

1. Xujiahui station on Line 1, 9 and 11 (near Exit 4): Yangshan Port.
2. Xinzha Road station on Line 1 (near Exit 5): Wusong Water Bell.
3. Changshu Road station on Line 1 and 7 (near Exit 4): Jiangnan Shipyard.
4. Shanghai Indoor Stadium station on Line 1 and 4 (near Exit 2): Shanghai Maritime University.
5. South Xizang Road station on Line 4 and 8 (near Exit 8): Wusongkou Lighthouse.
6. Jiashan Road station on Line 9 and 12 (near Exit 2): Merchant Shipping Hall.
7. East Nanjing Road station on Line 2 and 10 (near Exit 6): Shanghai Customs House.
8. Jiao Tong University station on Line 10 and 11 (near Exit 1): Qinglong Township Ruins.
9. International Cruise Terminal station on Line 12 (next Exit 1): Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal.
10. Madang Road station on Line 9 and 13 (next Exit 5): China Maritime Museum.
11. People’s Square station on Line 1, 2 and 8 (in the interchange hall): The centerpiece installation.
