Jing’an Temple is to reopen on Saturday, it said on Thursday.

The Grand Hall, the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Hall and the Sakyamuni Hall will be open to the public, it said.

To prevent cross-infection, everyone will have a disposable mat for kneeling on before they enter.

People should make reservations with 50 yuan (US$7.15) tickets bought in advance. The number of visitors will be limited.

The temple will be open from 7:30am to 5pm. On peak days for burning joss sticks, it will open two hours early.

Visitors will have their temperatures checked and must show their health QR code at the gate. Anyone with a temperature above 37.3 degree Celsius will not be allowed in. Masks must be worn inside.

The temple has been closed since January 24, Chinese New Year's Eve, due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The Longhua Temple in Xuhui District and the Jade Buddha Temple in Putuo District reopened on Tuesday and last Friday, respectively, with similar measures in place.
