2 coronavirus cases reported in Shanghai

Two new imported coronavirus cases were reported in Shanghai on Friday,  said the Shanghai Health Commission on Saturday morning.

Both are Chinese, one working in the Phillipines and the other working in Tanzania. They were put into quarantine upon arrival at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport and started to develop symptoms during the process.

The new patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 61 close contacts on the planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated place.

So far, of all the 399 imported cases, 377 have been discharged upon recovery and 22 are still hospitalized.

One imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Friday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
