Zhang Wenhong, a leading epidemiologist from Huashan Hospital, will give a talk on the program.

The first class for the new semester on public security will be aired on TV and the Internet to Shanghai students on Monday evening.

It will be the sixth “first class” in a row, held by Shanghai police, educators, firefighters and emergency administrators.

In the first class, students will be educated on avoiding falling victim to telecom and Internet frauds, preventing indulgence in video games, correctly using safety belts and helmets when taking cars and e-bikes, and giving way to fire engines in residential complexes.

A psychological expert will help the young viewers stay positive in the coming semester, and Zhang Wenhong, a leading infectious disease doctor and head of Shanghai's coronavirus expert team, will instruct them on protecting themselves from COVID-19.

The program will run from 6pm to 6:45pm on Monday on Shanghai Education TV, Shanghai TV’s documentary channel, the bus and Metro TV as well as on several websites such as eastday.com and bilibili.com.
