A children's painting auction is organized to raise funds for the foundation.

Make-A-Wish Charity Partner Day was held at Life Hub@Upbund over the weekend to call for support for children with critical illnesses.

The event was jointly organized by Hongkou District Women’s Federation and Shanghai Make-A-Wish Charity Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks social resources to help fulfill the wishes of critically ill children.

Near 130 children in China have had their wishes fulfilled since the foundation was established three years ago. Zhang Ruiqi, 9, was one of them. Zhang has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a condition that can result in trouble standing or walking when the patient reaches the age of around 12.

Born in inland Henan Province, Zhang's wish was to see the ocean. With support from a Sanya resort, the foundation helped Zhang fulfill his wish with a trip to Sanya, Hainan Province. The young patient expressed his gratitude through a video shown during the Partner Day.

As a partner of the foundation, Life Hub@Upbund was named as a “children-friendly mall” by Hongkou District Women’s Federation during the Partner Day. The mall is equipped with children-friendly facilities, including special hand-washing tables and pram rental services, to provide convenience to family visitors.
