5 imported COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai
The city reported five new imported coronavirus cases on Monday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.
The first patient is a Chinese studying in the United Kingdom who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 18.
The second and third patients are Chinese working in the Philippines who arrived at the Shanghai airport on September 25 on two separate flights.
The fourth and the fifth patients, a couple, are Chinese visiting relatives in Japan who arrived at the Shanghai airport on September 25.
All the patients have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 100 close contacts with them on the same planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.
Meanwhile, three patients were discharged upon recovery, the commission said. So far, of all the 655 imported cases, 604 have been discharged upon recovery and 51 are still hospitalized.
One imported suspected case is undergoing test.
No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported during the last 24 hours, according to the commission.
Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.
No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
