COMAC wins deal for 55 C919 jets from ICBC Leasing

THE Commercial Aircraft Corp of China yesterday won a contract for 55 C919 jets from ICBC Leasing, the leasing unit of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.

The latest deal brings total orders for the first domestically developed single-aisle 150-seat passenger jet to 785. The deal signed yesterday also made ICBC Leasing as the biggest customer of the narrow body aircraft with a total of 100 orders.

COMAC has so far secured orders from 27 foreign and domestic customers, including Air China and leasing company GE Capital Aviation Service. Overseas orders, which account for 10 percent of the total, include Germany’s PuRen Airlines and Thailand’s City Airways, as well as carriers from Asia-Pacific and Africa.
