500 billion yuan investment

Hangzhou will launch more than 300 infrastructure projects with a total investment of more than 500 billion yuan in the next five years in order to make the city more efficient, intelligent and environmentally friendly, the Daily Business has reported.

Xiaoshan International Airport will undergo transformation during the period. The area proposed for the new Terminal 4, of the airport, will reach 320,000 square meters, or the size of 46 standard soccer fields.

The T4 will be around the same size as the combined of T1, T2 and T3 terminals. The plan of T4 is now in the design stage and construction will start within a year, if everything goes as scheduled.

In addition, a transport hub will be constructed at the airport in front of T1 and T2 for buses and taxis, as well as parking lots.

And a third runway of the airport is under planning. The construction is expected to begin in 2022 and completed by 2025.
