Iberia’s new dishes

Iberia has changed its food service on flights between Shanghai and Madrid, a route the Spanish airline launched in June 2016. The new menus for Business and Economy classes are already available. New lunch and dinner offerings, as well as a permanent snack service, are expected to delight travelers on the long-haul flight.

The main meal in Business Class starts with a cold appetizer, consomme or gazpacho, salad and a cheese plate.

For the main course there is a choice of three dishes — two European style and one Asian. For dessert, customers can choose between cake and ice cream.

On flights from Madrid to Shanghai, passengers are served a breakfast before landing including cold-cuts, a French omelette, jasmine rice, fresh fruit and, yoghurt, along with a croissant and toast with butter and jam.

On flights from Shanghai to Madrid, Business Class passengers are served a pre-landing snack including cold-cuts, fresh fruit, white rice and bread. At all times during the flight, customers can have a snack, including drinks, noodles, sandwiches, chocolate bars, fresh fruit and dairy products.

In the new menus served in the Economy Class, the salad included in the main meal has been upgraded and now is made of ingredients such as wheat, couscous, quinoa or lentils. Main dish choices are pasta or meat or chicken. Seasonal fresh fruit is served for dessert.
