Attractions offer deals for tourism festival

SHANGHAI tourism authorities yesterday unveiled a list of 75 tourist attractions that will offer half-price discounts on admission for the annual Shanghai Tourism Festival, which is scheduled for September 15 to 21.

The list includes landmarks like the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, the 88th-floor observatory at Shanghai Jinmao Tower, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and Shanghai Tower, according to the Shanghai Tourism Administration.

Shanghai Century Park, Shanghai Zoo, Gongqing Forest Park, Chenshan Botanical Garden, Guyi Garden, Fangta Park, Yuehu Sculpture Park, Zuibaichi Park, Dongping National Forest Park, Shanghai Wild Animal Park, Gucun Park, and water towns like Xinchang, Fengjing and Zhujiajiao will also offer discounted tickets.

Museums like the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai Natural History Museum, and Shanghai Film Museum, and the former residences of Dr Sun Yat-sen and literary giant Lu Xun were also named.

Two amusement parks, Shanghai Happy Valley and Jinjiang Amusement Park are included too.

Half-price tickets will be available for the sightseeing cruise on the Huangpu River from 11am to 5pm during the festival. Ships will disembark from the Shiliupu Dock at 481 Zhongshan Rd E2.

The Shanghai Disney Resort will offer discounted tickets after 3pm between September 15 and October 6, subject to availability. The discounted tickets will be sold on the resort’s official website.
