Magnitude 5 quake in Chongqing

The Wulong County of southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality was hit by a magnitude 5 earthquake at 5:43pm yesterday, said the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The quake’s epicenter was at 29.4 degrees north latitude and 107.94 degrees east longitude.
The quake struck at a depth of about 10 kilometers.
It was felt strongly in Chongqing’s city districts such as Yubei and Shapingba.The municipal earthquake administration has sent experts and rescue workers to the quake zone.
Wulong is home to the scenic area Wulong Karst, which was named as a world natural heritage by UNESCO in 2007. Scenes for the Hollywood movie “Transformers 4: Age of Extinction” were filmed in the area.
