The 18-year-old sentry was shot and killed by the gunmen outside a People's Liberation Army garrison in Chong°?qing's High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

The municipality's public security bureau categorized its investigation as an anti-terrorist mission and launched a citywide crackdown on illegal firearms and explosives.

In addition to the 300,000 yuan the bureau offered for tips leading to the perpetrator, police at the High-Tech Industrial Development Zone offered another 300,000 yuan.
