A MAN convicted of killing eight people, including a 2-year-old boy, was executed yesterday in Suizhou City of Hubei Province, Wuhan Evening News reported.

Xiong Zhenlin, 35, a junk collector, was convicted in Luoyang Township in central China on January 4.

The victims included five of his employees, a local resident named Xia Guangxiu who had come to sell waste material, a 43-year-old woman named Zhu Deqing, whom Xiong hoped to marry, and Zhu's two-year-old grandson.

He was arrested in the provincial capital Wuhan on January 11.
