Oldest dinosaur fossils move home

CHINA'S oldest and largest dinosaur fossils are due at their new home in Beijing from southern China's Yunnan Province today, China Science and Technology Museum said yesterday.

The bones, which were flown from Yunnan yesterday, would be transported in anti-shock vehicles in 15 cushioned containers to the new site of China Science and Technology Museum in the center of Olympic Green, said Xin Bing, deputy curator of the museum.

The skeletons of three prehistoric beasts would "meet the public" at the opening ceremony of the new museum on September 16, said Xin.

The fossils would be protected by 50 guards day and night.

They were donated by the Yunnan provincial government to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
