Pats’ Garoppolo to 49ers

THE San Francisco 49ers acquired quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo from the New England Patriots for a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL entry draft, the US media reported on Monday. Garoppolo is slated to become a free agent at the end of the season. In 17 career NFL games, Garoppolo has completed 63 of 94 passes for 690 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. The Pats are on a bye week, which allows them extra time to now find another backup QB via a trade or free agency.
