Rookie and amateur share early lead in Taipei

Rookie pro Tiffany Chan of China’s Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei amateur Hou Yu-chiang set the early pace at the CTBC Ladies Open yesterday as each posted opening-round scores of 1-under 71 to share a one-shot lead.
China’s Pan Yanhong and Chinese Taipei’s Yu Pei-lin were a shot further back at even-par 72 at the tournament, co-sanctioned between the China LPGA Tour and the Taiwan LPGA Tour. Chinese Taipei star Teresa Lu, a four-time winner in Japan this year, was equal fifth with fellow islander Tsai Pei-ying after carding rounds of 1-over 73 in the windy conditions at Orient (Taipei) Golf and Country Club.
