Iniesta’s J-League debut
Andres Iniesta could make his J-League debut at the weekend when his new club Vissel Kobe hosts Shonan Bellmare, the Spaniard said after arriving in Japan yesterday. The 34-year-old midfielder spent 16 years at Barcelona before signing for Kobe in May. Kobe officials said Iniesta would join up with his new teammates for training tomorrow before Sunday’s match, Kyodo news agency reported. “I want to play as soon as possible. I’ll get in top condition for Sunday, and I hope to show the fans great play,” Kyodo quoted Iniesta as saying after his arrival at Kansai airport, where he was greeted by 300 fans.
