United-Spurs, Blues-Saints in FA Cup semis

MANCHESTER United will play Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semifinals at Spurs’ temporary Wembley Stadium home.

The draw on Sunday saw last year’s finalist Chelsea face Southampton in the other semifinal.

Both matches will be played at Wembley on the weekend of April 21-22.

Wembley is the designated neutral ground for the semifinals — and final — but Tottenham is well accustomed to it after taking up temporary residence at the national stadium this season while its home at White Hart Lane is being redeveloped.

The draw followed Sunday’s quarterfinals where Chelsea beat Leicester City 2-1 thanks to Pedro’s extra-time winner, and Southampton beat third-tier Wigan Athletic 2-0 in Mark Hughes’ first game in charge of the Saints.

Twelve-time FA Cup champion United and Spurs secured their passages to the semifinals on Saturday. United beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0, and Spurs defeated Swansea City 3-0.
