Porsche China names new CEO
Jens Puttfarcken has been appointed chief executive officer of Porsche China Motors Ltd to lead the company's operations in China, according to German carmaker Porsche's official statement.
The appointment will be effective since July this year. Before named as the chief executive officer of Porsche China Motors Ltd, Jens Puttfarcken serves as chief executive officer of Porsche Deutschland GmbH.
"Jens Puttfarcken has many years of experience in the area of sales and is well equipped to expand the very important Chinese market for the Porsche brand and steer it toward a successful future," said Detlev von Platen, member of the executive board responsible for sales and marketing at Porsche AG.
Jens Puttfarcken, 52, has worked in the automotive sector for 27 years and moved from Fiat to Porsche in 1997.
Porsche delivered more than 71,000 units of vehicles in China in 2017, up 10 percent year on year. China has been the largest sales market for Porsche for for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017.
