New Audi China chief to start Q4

Thomas Owsianski has been appointed president of Audi China to lead the company's business operations, according to German car brand's official statement published on Wednesday.

Thomas Owsianski has been appointed president of Audi China from the fourth quarter, the German luxury carmaker said yesterday. He joined the top management team yesterday.

Audi said on its website that Owsianski is an acknowledged sales expert and well acquainted with China.

Owsianski was executive vice president responsible for the Volkswagen brand in the South America region from 2016 to 2018.

From 2014 to 2016, Owsianski was executive director at SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co Ltd, with responsibility for sales and marketing for the Skoda brand.

He will replace Joachim Wedler who will retire after 34 years with the company.
