Guangzhou auto show raises curtain

Major automakers are showcasing their latest models and technologies at a Guangzhou car show.

The exhibition, at the 240,000-square-meter Import and Export Fair Complex in the capital of Guangdong Province, runs from Friday to November 25.

Overseas and domestic car makers will display more than 1,085 models at the 16th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition. About 48 new models will make their global debut.

Themed as "New Technology, New Life," the annual auto show will present 28 concept cars and 150 new-energy vehicles.

In addition to major car brands such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and BMW,  luxury cars and new energy vehicles are in the spotlight.

Porsche, Lamborghini and Maserati as well as Tesla, BYD, Polestar and NIO are represented.

In addition to passenger cars, there are commercial vehicles, modified cars, parallel-import cars and auto parts.

Despite the slowing growth of the Chinese auto market in the second half of this year, it is still one of the most dynamic markets with the greatest potential in the world.
