Volkswagen Group China will attend the 2019 China International Import Expo (CIIE) to showcase its portfolio of Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche new-energy vehicles.

The German automaker said this year’s CIIE will be an opportunity to explore ways to transition to electrification with its Chinese partners and shape a sustainable vision for future mobility.

The Volkswagen exhibition zone will display the ID.3, the first mass-produced vehicle based on Volkswagen's MEB platform — its modular car platform for electric cars developed by Volkswagen Group and its subsidiaries. Audi’s zone will showcase its mass-produced electric cars that combine the latest research and development into the Internet of Vehicles and autonomous driving.

Porsche is bringing three models — the Cayenne E-Hybrid, the 919 Hybrid and the Taycan, its first fully electric sports car.

Mobility Asia, Volkswagen Group China’s wholly owned subsidiary, will present the application of technologies such as intelligent vehicle connectivity, robotaxis, smart charging and the Internet of Everything during the event. Mobility Asia will make full play of technologies such as interactive augmented reality scenarios and organic light-emitting-diode touchscreen interaction. The company says it will showcase a “people-oriented” mobility ecosystem and a sustainable blueprint for new-energy vehicle charging.

Volkswagen will display its latest car models and technologies in Hall 2.1 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center from November 5 to 10, with the theme of this year’s exhibition being “Shape the New Era of Sustainable Mobility in China."
