The 16th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition will be postponed amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, according to a notice published on the official website of the event.

Rescheduled dates for the auto show will be announced in the future. Organizers of the exhibition say they will pay close attention to developments related to the outbreak and issue timely notices to communicate with the public.

The decision to postpone the event was made in light of China's epidemic prevention measures, and to ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors, according to organizers.

Prior to Monday's announcement, the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition was scheduled to run from April 21 to 30. The total exhibition area was expected to cover 220,000 square meters.
