"We’re focusing our investment in research, equipment and capabilities, driving innovation to support our growth strategy, margin and quality platforms, and the increased scale at the Suzhou facility will enable us to more quickly address evolving consumer needs,” Rob Hargrove, executive vice president of Research, Development, Quality and Innovation at Mondelēz International, said in a statement.

Stephen Maher, president of Mondelēz China, said "This means that China will be the first market to enjoy the results of the research here and China’s unique, diverse urban and rural demographics and rapidly changing market environment will also provide first-hand insights, timely feedback .... for product research and development."

The Suzhou technical center will employ more than 100 scientists, engineers and specialists from all over the world.
